Welcome to La Casita de Bambú

At La Casita de Bambú, we offer artists an intimate space to slow down, explore, experiment, and reconnect with creativity and nature.

Our residency is by invitation only, welcoming artists for pre-scheduled stays of two to three days. There is no expectation to create a finished body of work. Instead, artists are invited to observe, play, take risks, and allow the experience to guide their creative process.

Residents receive:

  • A private room and bathroom.

  • Full access to our studio and creative spaces.

  • One acre of land for exploration and inspiration.

  • Walking access to the Mariton Wildlife Sanctuary.

We encourage temporary, non-invasive creative practices that respect the environment, using simple materials, found objects, light, water, movement, sound, and whatever nature provides.

Above all, La Casita de Bambú is a place to slow down, be present, and rediscover the joy of creating without expectation.

There is no pressure to produce—only an invitation to explore.

Community Engagement

Community and creative exchange are an important part of the La Casita de Bambú experience. Resident artists are encouraged to connect with the arts and education community of the Lehigh Valley.

During their stay, artists may have opportunities to:

  • Visit Arts Academy Elementary Charter School (AAECS) and share their creative journey with students.

  • Connect with local cultural partners, including the Allentown Art Museum, Lehigh University Art Galleries, Miller Symphony Hall, and others.

  • Meet local artists, educators, and community members.

These experiences are informal and organic, creating space for conversation, collaboration, and mutual inspiration.

Experience the Magic of La Casita de Bambú

We invite you to slow down, play, explore, and reconnect with the simple joy of creating.

At La Casita de Bambú, inspiration can emerge anywhere—in the studio, during a quiet walk through nature, in conversation with another artist, or through an unexpected encounter with the surrounding landscape.

This residency is not about arriving with answers or leaving with a finished body of work. It is about giving yourself permission to experiment without expectations, embrace the unknown, and rediscover your creative spirit.

Come curious. Be present. Play freely. And allow the experience to become part of the work.
